Chapter Seventeen

Hazel had always felt different. She'd always felt wrong. When she was younger she didn't know what it was. She didn't have the words to comprehend it at that point. But as she got older she started to notice the way her eyes gazed on the girls in her class, unlike the girls in her class whose eyes fell on boys. Even when she was with Sadie it felt wrong, it felt gross, it felt sinful. But that wasn't true. And she never grasped the horror of those feelings until Indie. With Indie things didn't feel like that. Things felt good. Things felt right. Things felt like they were meant to be. She didn't feel disgusting anymore. She didn't feel gross. She didn't feel sinful; if anything, she felt like she was watching an angel.

Indie had always felt different. A different ‘different’ than Hazel, but different all the same. She always liked things to be just so. She never verbalized it, but it was forever evident in the way she responded to things. She became visibly irritated when people moved her things. She never understood it, but that was just who she was. She’d always been that way. But it was never respected. When she didn’t want people to touch her stuff, they did anyway. She was seen as rude, but that simply wasn’t the truth. Until Hazel. Hazel listened to her. Hazel didn’t understand, but she accommodated, that was really all she had ever wanted. Will sure as hell never cared enough. She’d never understood that love was unconditional. That love was a two way street. But she was beginning to. She was beginning to know that she could be loved. Not like how she was starting to feel loved by Hazel.

She didn’t understand her feelings for Haz. She didn’t know what they meant, but she was starting to not care. All she knew was she liked Hazel, and that was enough. For a little while, that was enough.

Hazel sighed and took a deep breath. “Indie.” She rolled over. “We have to get up.” She pressed another kiss on to Indie’s neck.

“No. We really don’t. We could just stay in bed all day.”

Hazel laughed lightly, “Sorry, love. We really do need to go get ready for our flight.”

“You suck.”

“Baby. We both know I do not.” Indie laughed and peeled herself out of bed. “I assumed that would work.”

They flew back to England when they had just one week before classes resumed. They flew on a private jet. A private fucking jet. That’s actually insane. But, Hazel assumed it was for safety precautions. Having the King or Queen get shot would be extremely unfortunate.

“Welcome to London.” Indie smiled. “I plan to take you to all the touristy places while you are here.” She paused. “If you want to, that is.”

Hazel felt her heart thump. “Take me.” She smiled so brightly, Indie thought it would light up the whole airstrip. “Take me anywhere you want to.”

First was Indie’s house. Well, Hazel wasn’t really sure it could be called a house.
